ZD BÉBAROVÁ/NEZPĚVÁKOVÁ - FA CTU
I set out to create a paper lampshade from used coffee filters. There are a lot of these filters used and thrown away every day. But few people know that the best way to dispose of such filters is to throw them in the compost and not in the mixed waste. The paper from the coffee gets a beautiful color and the residue from the ground coffee beans creates an interesting effect when it shines through the paper.
I tried to celebrate this symbol of coffee with my designs and let it stand out. I've designed a way for the filters to be seamlessly linked to each other and not just use them flat, but use their conical shape in space. The result is a wall of light and over the table lampshade.
